Classroom Policies
Homework Policy
In our class, I typically do not give a lot of extra homework. Students will need to read 20 minutes every day at home, and students will also need to complete any unfinished classwork in order to not fall behind. My goal is for my students to develop good reading habits inside and outside of the classroom. I only assign homework that I feel is needed; therefore, I want my students to complete their assigned homework each night. Students will not receive full credit for an assignment that is late unless they have a homework extension reward or we have made prior arrangements.
Makeup Work Policy
Students will need to collect their makeup work from the file holder labeled makeup work at the beginning of class. Students will find their clipboard that has their name written on it. The student will pull all of the papers off of the clipboard that way I know they received their makeup work. The makeup work will have a piece of paper attached to it that gives notes about what we did on that day, what makeup work they need to complete, and directions on how to complete work. Students will have one day for each day they missed to complete their makeup work. However, I am flexible about making other arrangements. I understand that things come up that are out of our control. Since the students do not usually have a lot of homework, most students should be able to complete their makeup work in that time frame.
